AccessMatters - A Letter from Ayana Bradshaw, President & CEO

Dear Friend, We need your help. This week we are navigating the impact of devastating news for our organization. AccessMatters lost $1.2 million in funding when our Teen Pregnancy Prevention was unexpectedly and abruptly cancelled, with zero notice. This is a sudden and crushing loss for us, for our partners, and most importantly the teens and community members who rely on our program for information and care. Until it was just terminated, this program provided: Monthly Clinic Confidence workshops in partnership with CHOP to help familiarize youth with what to expect at a healthcare visit Multi-session education programs proven effective in reducing teen pregnancy and STIs Ambassador and professional development opportunities for teens through the Adolescent Health Initiative’s Youth Advisory Board Skill-building workshops with teens and families to increase communication and connection Without this funding… Let me repeat. Devastating. Overnight teens lost access. At AccessMatters, we are now immediately pivoting to figure out how to support Philadelphia youth who heavily rely on us for support, while also figuring out how to save our staff whose livelihoods depend on this grant. Our partner organizations are facing the same situation. This is an urgent need that requires an urgent response. You can help immediately. Please donate today. This directly impacts adolescents, their families, and communities. Give a meaningful gift today for freedom […]
